     The sciences at UMass Boston are involved in monitoring the coastal environment, preserving diversity in the deep sea and the tropical rain forest, computer mapping, database programming, creating devices to enhance medical imaging, and other exciting investigations. Educational opportunities are afforded by five doctoral programs and five masters programs as well as traditional majors and interdisciplinary courses of study.
